Open Letter to my Sister
For my darling sister:
Sorry I took so long to reply… I’ve been running helter skelter trying to get my life, non-career life, in order. Lots of odds and ends… administration… shit… plus we’ve been practising a lot… my band. We played a crazy show where I was so concentrated I missed the drummer headbanging his noggin off his shoulders. Incidentally, I looked on wikipedia and there’s actually a kind of headbanging that exists called The thrust: an antisocial form of headbanging where the person violently swings forwards and backwards from their waist, often headbutting people in front of them, or in more extreme circumstances, behind them. I’d like to see, though not necessarily experience, such radical transcendance… in headbanging… Now the girls are convinced of world domination… but I’m still in the tub.
